2018 has gotten off to a promising start for one Irish startup. Careers site Abodoo launched less than six months ago and now the startup has secured 200,000 from one of Ireland’s most successful entrepreneurs – Dan Kiely.
Kiely sold his company, Voxpro, in 2017 for an estimated 150 million.
Abodoo is a careers site that promotes flexible working, allowing employers to fill vacancies with registered candidates who can work remotely.
According to Abodoo, companies who embrace flexible or remote working opportunities for their employees can expect to see an increase in staff retention, increased productivity among the workforce, less stress amongst staff and of course, cost savings.
Once you’re signed up, you tell Abodoo some of your preferences for work and the platform performs all of the searching and filtering for you so you will only ever see the strongest matches in your results.
It will also create personalised introductions for you to start messaging your matched employers on the platform.
Co-founder Vanessa Tierney says the investment will now to be used to help the IDA-supported company expand into the UK and other markets in 2018.
