Leading tech companies in Ireland are coming together to participate in 404 London, a major international recruiting conference to attract skilled tech workers in the UK to work and live in Ireland.
Companies including Workday, HubSpot, Indeed, CarTrawler, McAfee, Bloomberg PolarLake and Bank of Ireland to name a few will promote skilled tech job opportunities in Ireland to UK workers at the conference taking place in the heart of Londons tech hub on the 10th February.
Speaking ahead of the conference, 404 co-founder Jackie Slattery said:
404 London is the first international tech recruitment event of its kind directly connecting tech companies in Ireland with the UKs pool of tech talent. Government and industry have rightly recognised that for Irelands tech sector to continue to flourish it needs a pipeline of skilled tech professionals. With over 365,000 developers in the Greater London area alone, the UK is a hot bed of tech activity and an obvious choice for recruitment.
The timing of the London event coincides with a recent LinkedIn report that says the UK now accounts for the largest net migration to this country, with 21% of all professional talent migrating to Ireland now coming from the UK. The software sector is the largest net beneficiary of talent moving to Ireland.
Barbara McCarthy, Director of Engineering at HubSpot, who will be speaking at the event, said:
At HubSpot were passionate about the Irish tech scene and promoting its growth in other markets, particularly London, so this event is a perfect fit for us. Our goal in sponsoring 404 London is to expand our tech network, but its also to learn from some engineering leaders. I love that the event covers such a wide scope of topics from front-end tech to DevOps, and were excited to connect with attendees and have our team learn from them throughout the day.
Skilled jobs on offer by participating companies include professionals in software, data, security, fintech and Dev Ops.
A conference side of the event includes keynote speakers such as John and Brenda Romero of Romero Games, Barbara McCarthy, Director of Engineering at Hubspot and Bobby Healy, CTO at CarTrawler. There will also be key players from the Irish tech community and meet-up groups, so attendees can get a sense of whats happening on the ground in Ireland.
The event is being delivered by the team behind 404 Dublin and Career Zoo events, on behalf of Tech/Life Ireland, the joint initiative of Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland and the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation. The event is sponsored by Workday, Hubspot, CarTrawler and Indeed Prime.
