Built in Dublin is a series of short video stories, created in collaboration with RTÉ. Each one spotlights MediaTech founders and startups who are changing the media industry from right here in Dublin.

In the ninth episode of the series we meet the founder of Fandom, Ciaran Ó Raghallaigh.

Ciaran conceived the idea about Fandom while watching a football game in France. He realised that people watching it on television saw better what was happening rather than him and the fellow journalists at the press box in the stadium. He had to go back to social media to revisit that so decided to build a platform that generated content from social media better. In his journey so far he has learned to not get too excited about some breakthroughs but then to enjoy the actual wins like Google using Fandom at an event. All along, Ciaran has had the support of Enterprise Ireland and many successful entrepreneurs with good will.
