Dublin-based Opening.io has won the NDRC Investor Day Spring 2017, securing 30,000 in capital.
Opening.io is an innovative startup that uses artificial intelligence to improve the recruitment process for companies. This is done by using linguistic algorithms to identify patterns within job posts and CVs and then turning these into data points, which are used to match candidates with suitable jobs.
The company aims to be a B2B solution for businesses, helping filter through any current HR databases and make the overall process much more simple and effective.
Opening.io beat 8 other companies at the Investor Day to win the next stage investment. NDRC hosts the pitch days to give startups the chance to move beyond good ideas and avail of experience and expertise, as well as the capital.
Speaking about the win, Ben Hurley, CEO of NDRC said:
Opening.io has a compelling proposition, clear target market with existing customers and refined commercial projections. With their vision and determination, they have an extremely bright future ahead and this also illustrates how digital transformation is impacting all sectors of the Irish economy including human resourcing and recruitment in this instance.
To date, NDRC has built and invested in more than 200 companies with a combined market value of over 400 million and employing almost 700 employees in Ireland and abroad. Some of the companies NDRC has in its portfolio include NewsWhip, Glissed and SilverCloud.
NDRC also recently announced a partnership with Enterprise Ireland, Portershed and Galway City Innovation District to run an intensive regional accelerator programme for digital companies in Galway and the Western region.
