Today’s Dublin Factoid: Celebrating its 75th birthday this year, Dublin Airport handles an average of 60,000 passengers per day, with some 600 take-offs and landings taking place daily – this rises to some 80,000 passengers daily during the peak summer season. The airport handled 21.7 million passengers in 2014, a 8% increase in passenger numbers on 2013. The top three routes from Dublin are all to London airports: Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. The Dublin-London route is one of the worlds top 20 busiest international air routes, with over 640 weekly flights between the two cities.
